Caucausian Chalk Circle ran at the Viaduct Theatre March 12- April 3, 2011.

Synopsis: The Caucasian Chalk Circle takes place amidst a city burning in the ravages of civil war, where an innocent girl sacrifices everything to protect a seemingly abandoned child.  Once peace and order are restored, the child’s biological mother returns to claim him. The fate of all three rests upon the ancient tradition of the chalk circle. Chock-full of vivid characters and with raucous, unforgettable live music, one of master storyteller Bertolt Brecht’s greatest plays comes to life in an exciting new translation by award-winning playwright Alistair Beaton.

Beautiful City (2010)

Beautiful City ran at the DCA Storefront Theater March 5- April 4, 2010.

Synopsis: "This is the future" begins this darkly comic fable about architects, urban developers, crime families, law enforcement, and even a witch, all fighting for the soul and vision of a city.  Set in an urban landscape ripe for redevelopment, the parable blends off-kilter characters, fast-paced storytelling, and stinging social satire in a tale of greed, corruption, and civic responsibility.

The Arab-Israeli Cookbook ran at the Chicago DCA Storefront Theater from March 7- April 5, 2009

Synopsis: Arab and Israeli voices come together in the stories of ordinary people living in a rich yet divided world in Israel and the West Bank. Based on real-life interviews, this deeply human play weaves the stories and recipes of more than forty characters who reveal common culture and experiences amidst the daily conflict. In restaurants, shops, cafes, and homes, everyone has a story to tell and a recipe to cook.

Synopsis: Two sides battle for the fate of a country in this epic drama about peace, war and negotiation. A bloody conflict on Europe's eastern border is escalating at an alarming rate, while every urgent effort is made to resolve ethnic and religious differences and to end the conflict. Edgar provides a rare window into the processes of mapping out a delicate peace as the play moves between the drama of the negotiating table and the theater of war.
