(Artistic Director & Board of Directors) has more than twenty-five years of professional theater experience as a director, educator and administrator. He spent eight years at The Second City, most recently as President of The Training and Education division, overseeing programs throughout the United States and Canada and growing the division into arguably the largest acting training program in the world. He also served as Producer of The Second City Detroit Theater and was Producer of The Laugh Track television program produced by The Second City and Towers Productions for A & E. Prior to Second City, he was on the staffs of Hartford Stage Company, Goodman Theatre, League of Chicago Theatres, Melanie Stewart Dance and South Jersey Regional Theatre. His directing credits include productions in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Connecticut. In New York, he directed the New York premiere of The Pool of Bethesda and The Vicar's Wife at Greenwich Street Theater for Common Ground Stage and Film. Chicago credits include Up 'N' Under and Escanaba in da Moonlight (Jeff Recommended) at Circle, Devour the Moon and Dear Jackie at Live Bait, An Ecstasy of Dragonflies at City Lit, Living Inside Myself at Bailiwick and on tour throughout the United States, Mr. Nanny at Bailiwick and Ivanhoe, Zack & Jill at Bailiwick, One for the Road at Public Trust, and more than a dozen productions at Donny's Skybox and university productions at The Theatre School at DePaul University and Barat College. He has worked extensively as a director on the development of original works for the stage in collaboration with playwrights, composers and lyricists, including directing many workshops, staged readings and developmental productions at theaters such as Silk Road, Women's Theatre Alliance, Theatre Building Chicago, Eclipse, The Second City, Live Bait and Chicago Dramatists in Chicago, and PlayWorks and Society Hill Playhouse in Philadelphia. He has served as a consultant or advisor to the Canadian Consulate General, Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, Arts and Business Council of Chicago, GayCo Productions, The Chicago Ensemble, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, and Brandywine Graphic Workshop. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Illinois Theatre Association. He formerly served as Secretary/Treasurer on The Second City Foundation Board and as Vice President of The Theatre School at DePaul University Alumni Board. He was one of the first recipients of an Arts Management Fellowship from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. He holds a BA in Radio-TV-Film from Temple University and an MFA in Directing from The Theatre School at DePaul University where he is currently an adjunct professor of acting and directing and guest director. He also teaches for The Second City Training Center and directs The Second City Education Touring Company.
